Baby Girl!!

So as many of you know, I had to have another ultrasound to check baby girl's heart for heart defects....well it came back PERFECT!!! Just like her. We got more fun photos and I also asked the tech if she knew of anywhere to get 3 or 4D ultrasounds at. She told me that the machine was actually capable and that she would do a few for me once she was finished checking baby girls heart. Sure enough she did but little one would not fully cooperate, but we got a few decent shots. She was being a stinker the entire ultrasound by not wanting to be "photographed" same with the listening to the heartbeat at my midwives appointment earlier that day.

We also asked if we could check (my mom was with me) to make sure she was indeed a girl....yes sirree she was definitely a girl!! She will thank me someday for that photo...NOT!! Anyways, they have confirmed that they want to take an ultrasound every month from here on out due to the fact that I have diabetes and they need to check growth. The remainder of the scans will be fairly quick which is sad because I LOVE to see my little angel, but at the same time I am going to spend so much time at the doctors office that it will be nice that I won't be spending hours there. Although, seeing her would be worth it definitely!!!!

So here's the question for you.....who do you think she looks like?? A friend says she looks like Aidan but I don't think so. I can't tell!! My sister says she looks like me. What do you think?

see her foot?? I love this photo!!

Our "alien looking" girl, she's looking at us!!

Update on Aidan!!

So, I have been procrastinating this post because I couldn't believe how much of a rock star my little boy was!! So, we haven't put a diaper on Aidan for naps now for a few weeks....I think he wet himself once, maybe twice. I was unsure that it would last so I didn't want to be blogging about how proud of him I was until it was continuous for a bit. Well it has continued!!! We are so proud of him and how well he is doing!!

Also, on top of that, he is now buckling up his own seat without any help from Mommy or Daddy. He has been doing this for about a week or so now and he was buckling the top part of his seat belts (5-point harness) for quite some time also. He thinks he is such a big boy now and I love it because I don't have to try and get him in his seat or trying to wrangle him. He tells me that he needs to be buckled in to be safe before I start driving. He also let's me know when it "clicks" so that I can start to drive. What a good boy. I am so proud of my little man and how big he is getting!! He is growing up so fast!

Thank you Nana!!!

Smiling for his photo showing off his outfit!!! Little bit big but that was the point, for him to grow into it!!
He was being silly and stuck his tongue out at me!

The video is his way of saying thank you to Nana for his "first day of school" outfit that she bought for him. It was just one of a few different outfits that she and I helped Aidan pick out at Target a week and a half ago. It has been pretty warm here (shorts and t-shirt or tank top weather) so he hasn't been able to wear the outfits yet. They all are long sleeved and long pants outfits. So we are pretty excited about the fall clothing and the fun outfits and how cute he will look!!!! Thanks again Nana!!!

Aidan practicing zipping up his new jacket!

Nana bought him a bunch of new clothes for shcool/fall (thanks Nana!! He loves them all!!) On of the items was this jacket (its more like a sweatshirt that zips up) but Aidan the whole time in Target and the whole time once we got home only practiced and practiced until he got it!! He was so proud of himself when he figured out he could do it on his own!! Now he wants to wear it every single day regarless of the weather outside!! What a silly boy!

Aidan's Preschool!!

Zipping up his new jacket from Nana. He practiced until he got it!
"unofficial" first day of school photo
So, my little boy is a big boy now and goes to school!!! I am so proud of him!! He loves it and has had no problem adapting to school. I know I promised a blog right after his first day but last week was C-R-A-Z-Y!!! I am glad that he is going to school and seeming to learn a lot although I swear that his favorite phrase is "I don't know." When he is asked something he usually replies with that phrase. It can be a bit aggravating just because you know he knows but it makes the question asking process interesting.
"Official" first day photo
Hanging up his coat under his name tag!
He wanted me to leave during the open house the week before school actually started but I explained that it was practice for those who aren't as comfortable with the idea of school. He walks into the room without even turning around to say good-bye to me!! It's rather heartbreaking after having him with me consistently for the last 3 years and now....oh well. I am so happy that it was easy and no problems because I think if he were screaming and not wanting to let go then I would be more of a wreck.
Excited to get into his classroom and started on school!!
I just now have to figure out what to do with myself until I pick him up!! My mom and I went and saw Mama Mia!! Tuesday and that was fun. It started right after school started (enough time to buy tickets and get our FREE popcorn) and then ended 10 minutes before Aid got out and was less than 5 minutes away. So, now its cleaning, and scrap booking after cleaning is done and other chores. So, yea, he loves to show me his art that he does each day and I LOVE to see it!!! He even was up at 5:30am on his first day of school (I had to nanny at 6am) and he was asking me when we got to go. Now he knows that he goes after lunch because his teachers need to eat lunch too.
This is all I see after hanging up his coat...
Getting into the train table to start his day off at school...he didn't even look back at me. Boo! = (
Sorry if this post is all over the place. I have had a busy day and its 11pm and past my bedtime and if I didn't do this now I wouldn't get it done. Hope you enjoy...oh and after Nana bought him some new school clothes, he came home and decided he wouldn't stop until he figured out how to zip up his jacket properly!!! I love my little boy!! He also did the same with his car seat and now can unbuckle and buckle himself in the car seat and I don't need to help him anymore!! Can't believe it at all!! Enjoy the photos!!

Showing me what's in his bag at the end of his first day!! He does this everyday too....it's rather cute!!

7 down, 1 to go!! Weddings that is.

So, this past weekend our very wonderful friends got married in Manzanita, Oregon. Manzanita is 13 miles south of Canon Beach, Oregon. It was a no brainer to go because John and DJ (the groom) have been friends since they were in 1st grade, I believe. Monica and I have been friends since about the time that she and DJ started dating. So for about 8 years now!! They finally tied the knot on the beach and it was a very wonderful ceremony!! It was mainly family with only a handful of friends and everyone who was there had a wonderful time!! We had a little reception that was very fun too!! There was a lot of wonderful food and many wonderful desserts. Monica even asked me to make brownies that were bite-sized and cheesecake. They both were great!!
Monica has been planning this wonderful day for 6-weeks. They just figured out recently what they really wanted for their wedding and decided to go for it even though it was 2 weeks after she started the school year. I tried to help out as much as possible but there wasn't a lot that we could do to help her plan since the things that needed to get done were things she had to do. She was very happy how the wedding ended up. She was worried that it might not be all that great, but I assured her that I felt that same way before my wedding. She was worried about many things but everything was wonderful and both Monica and DJ had a WONDERFUL time and enjoyed their day very much.
Our weekend started on Friday when we dropped Aidan off at Nana's house for the weekend. She wanted him to stay with her and be her little buddy for the weekend. I think he thoroughly wore her out though. Thanks Mom!!! We really appreciate it!!! This was our first time away from Aidan ever so it was a bit weird to leave him home while we went on a vacation. We got up on Saturday and left around 5:30am. John drove and stopped for coffee, and again for breakfast at the Country Cousin in Centralia. My family would always stop there for breakfast growing up whenever we would go to Oregon. It was as delicious as we remember!! The waitress was AWESOME!!! She almost sat down with us and joined us....ok, maybe not really but she took time to comment on our Cougar gear and we chatted a bit about that. So fun.
So we ended up on the road again and I ended up asleep again....it was great!!! We got to Astoria and then I woke up!! The view that I woke up to was BEAUTIFUL!!! I was wishing that I could be on vacation for a bit longer than we were. We didn't stop longer than it took to fill the gas tank, but that was fine because we were driving through Astoria again on the way home! So as we were driving towards Seaside, John accidentally ran over something in the road which ruined our tire. It completely destroyed the inside of it to the point that it was not going to be fixed.
We didn't realize that we had a flat until we were in Seaside so we have no idea how long it was flat for. Oops, oh well. We pulled over in a little gas station and the attendant was really helpful. I asked if there was somewhere like Les Schwab anywhere between Seaside and Manzanita and the only Les Schwab was a block down the road!! Lucky stars!! So with our temporary tire on we were off to Les Schwab. They had a tire that was $30 and that was used with the same tread as on my tire. Sold, we saved $50-$80 on a tire especially since I will need new tires when we take off my studs after snow season. So we finally got to Manzanita around noon.
We had to find lunch because I was STARVING again and needed to eat. Once we finally got food and back to the car, John went to go change and found out that they had our room ready and we could check in 3 hours early!! Jackpot! He came to the car where I was finishing eating and putting on my make-up and told me that we had 7 minutes to 1pm (the wedding started at 1pm). AHHH 7 minutes to get to our room and get dressed and to the beach (which was literally right outside our room). So we threw on our clothes and walked out. We turned out to have plenty of time. Turns out Monica was frantically getting the last minute things put together too!!! She finally came out and was BEAUTIFUL!!! The day was wonderful they couldn't stop smiling (like it should be) and were finally Mr. & Mrs. DJ Peters!!! Best of luck you guys!!
We ended up hanging out the rest of the day and went to the beach a little later after the reception ended and found Monica and DJ finishing their photos!! We got to chat some more!! They finally took off to Canon Beach and we walked down to the water. Man it was cold!! My feet were instantly ice!! Oh well, it was fun. I found a sand dollar that was falling apart but still it was pretty darn cool. We grabbed a pizza, s'mores fixings, soda, snacks for later and we headed to the beach for a bonfire with DJ's family and some of Monica's family!! I had a hot dog because I didn't eat the pizza and that hot dog was so stinking good that I could have had another!! Instead I ate a ton of s'mores. So worth it!!
We were so pooped that we went back to the room early and we both crashed until 10am on Sunday. We got up cleaned up, checked out, and headed to Canon Beach. We ate at a cute little restaurant, Pig'n Pancake!! So good!! I HIGHLY recommend it!! We were going to walk around a bit but couldn't find a parking spot anywhere, but we did see the hotel where Monica & DJ were and their car. So we headed to Seaside where we stopped at the little "outlet mall" if you want to call it that. There were only a handful of stores but who cares. I bought some clothes at Osh Kosh for our little girl and I bought Aidan some shirts. We also hit up Harry & David but they didn't have any peaches yet. Bummer, instead I got some yummy peach salsa (I am not the biggest fan of salsa and this was incredible!!) We walked over and got Aid a game for doing so well while we were gone.
So we hit the road and headed home. We stopped for coffee and snacks in Astoria at the Safeway. We walked a bit but I just wanted to eat my burrito and call it good. So John walked down and saw the seals or sea lions or whatever they were that were barking up a storm. I wish I would have taken some pictures but I forgot the camera in the car. It was beautiful again though. We got home to my mom's and then got a pizza at Papa Murphys and ate dinner with my mom and learned about how Aidan's weekend went and then around 8pm we headed home. It was a long weekend. We got home got buddy to sleep and we cleaned up a bit and we both crashed too. Overall it was a wonderful weekend and a nice little break from being parents. We sure missed our little man but it was still nice. Anyhoo, if you made it to this point in our post, amazing!!! Sorry I was so long winded but I wanted to share our whole entire weekend with everyone!! Enjoy!!! Headed to the honeymoon!!

Yet Another thing....

Ok, here is your forewarning!! Don't read past this paragraph if you don't want to know to much!!! Seriously!

Ok, so at my last appointment with my diabetic educator (same day as my ultrasound), on August 22nd, I was told to do a urine sample and have my blood drawn. I did the blood draw but not the urine until almost a week later. I had just used the restroom right before my u/s and if anyone knows me at all I have the most unpregnant bladder EVER!!!! So, my diabetic educator, Joni, called me last Thursday, and said she needed to discuss my latest test results.

I called her back and told her that I would either see her at my appointment the next day or she could call me back. It was her choice. She said it was no problem to discuss it the next day. So at my appointment I sat down and she looked me in the eye and said, "I have something 'fun' for you to do for 24 hours." NOT!!!! I was like ok.....so, what did I need to do??

Joni explained that I had protein in my urine and for those who know anything about being prego, we all know that this isn't always a good thing. Although its usually linked to BP (blood pressure) my BP that day was 110/60. So she was baffled by the fact that my BP was fine and I had protein in my urine. Joni said there were two reason's she could think of why. 1)being pregnant is hard on your kidneys or 2) having diabetes is hard on your kidneys. So it could be one or the other or both!! How fun.

Here's the fun part.....she told me I needed to "collect" all my urine for a 24 hour period. Then it needs to be at the lab in less than 8 hours. Also, I need to have my blood drawn while I am at the lab dropping my pee off. So fun. So my 24 hours just ended. It wasn't so bad, but a bit annoying. Especially in the middle of the night when I just wanted to wake up use the potty and go back to bed. Instead I had to collect and refrigerate. EWWWWWWWW!!!! It really wasn't to bad but gross to think about and annoying. Anyhoo, keep your fingers crossed that it is good results so that I don't have to worry about yet another thing going wrong or happening this pregnancy.

P.S. If you made it through, on another note, Aidan starts school officially tomorrow!!! I am so excited for him and nervous and sad for myself. He is pretty darn excited. He has asked all weekend if he gets to go to school "tomorrow." Hooray for tomorrow!! Nana and I are going to take him so that Nana can buy him his first day of school outfit!! We love Nana!!! That is awfully sweet of her especially since right now we aren't in a position to be spending any money on school clothes since it is the first half of the month and bills and rent are all due this week and next. Not to mention little man has literally no clothes that fit his lower half that aren't shorts. All his sweats and jeans are high watering it and getting a bit small. Hopefully next week will work to buy him clothes. Luckily it doesn't matter that much since the weather is still nice out and he is in afternoon preschool. So hooray for my little boy turning into a big boy!!! Little sister is kicking right now and I like to think that is her way of saying, HOORAY!!! for Aidan!!

The Fair!!

So, last weekend, we went to the last day of the Evergreen State fair!! It has been a tradition that we go every year as I grew up, and we have continued it starting when we started dating. It continued after Aid was born and so its always a given to go. We tend to go during the last weekend which is good and bad.

This year we went on the last day and there weren't hardly any crowds, the problem we didn't leave until after naps and so we got to the fair around 3:30pm. It was done at 7pm. So needless to say we didn't see to many animals, but Aidan decided that this year was going to be the year that he wanted to go on the rides and what do you know...he LOVED it!! Last October was awful because he went on a ride and freaked out and sobbed and screamed the whole time. We never put him on rides (except the bumper boat ride) alone. Daddy is always with him (or me if I can).

This year he couldn't get enough of the rides. He wanted to go back and do more but we were out of tickets, including the tickets that we got from other's giving us their leftover tickets!!!! We had to eat dinner and try and see some animals. Anyhoo, it was a blast!!! Can't wait to go next year!! He will be so excited to show his sister around at the fair and to ride more rides!! Enjoy the photos!!

Our Annual photo in front of the cows....don't know how it came about but it did...

Oh on another note, I had another appointment with my diabetic educator on Friday and she mentioned that we are going to have a small, petite little one in January!! Music to my ears. She said at the 20 week u/s our baby was measuring in at the 54th percentile!! The tech rounded up and told us 60th, so it was nice to know that she is in a lower percentile. She also said that baby looked great!! As well as everything being proportionate and such. So yea!!! Can't wait!!! I have another u/s on the 22nd!!! Hooray!!

Registry!!!

So....I went C-R-A-Z-Y!!! Many of you know how much I LOVE to register whether it is for myself or for someone else. Since we did find out what we were having, I decided that I was going to register and I went crazy when I did. I don't think I registered for anything that wasn't pink, or at least very little.

So it was quite the adventure getting there. At a light I was tapped and my bumper on my car was scratched. We waited for the cop to show up and finally she did and we all agreed that we would settle it between us and call it good. So I got the estimate today and now I just need to call the guy and tell him how much he will need to pay for my car to be fixed.

When we FINALLY got there, my friend, Christina and I got going. Christina is 30 weeks prego and I am only 21 so needless to say we had a bunch of fun. She was going for blue and I was obviously going for pink!! I told John even if I didn't get a thing off of the registry that it was just fun to go and say I want all of this stuff for my little girl!! Not that I need it all. Hee, hee. Anyhoo, if you are interested I have registered at Babies R Us and I sort of registered online at Target. I want to actually go into a Target when I have a free hour or so and register for a few more things since I like to play with them and such before I register for them to make sure that I like them. So if you want, check them out!! Fun times were had by ME!!! Oh and I am fine from the fender bender. I was a bit sore in my lower back for a day or two but now I feel great!!!

A post other than family/baby post

Ok, I figured I neeeded to change it up a bit and do something that wasn't related to our family, weekend, or our little baby girl. I read this in another blog that I follow and as you will see at the end she tagged every other women who reads this!! So there you have it. It was much more unique than the others out there....So here goes!!!

My Foundation- I use Arbonne FYI during the summer or when I am working out for light coverage, otherwise I use Arbonne's Mineral powder foundation!! LOVE IT!!!

My Blush- I use Arbonne blushes. I have 2 colors right now and am always looking at getting more colors. You might notice a trend here in the Arbonne lines!! ; )

My Day Cream- I use my Arbonne Intelligence line loition. I love it and my skin hasn't felt better since starting on the Intelligence line!!

My Lipstick- Again...Arbonne lipstick and lipgloss. Then again I am an Arbonne consultant so it kind of makes sense....heehee

My Essential Beauty Product- my face wash because without that my face would look horrid. Ok in my opinion.

My Favorite Product-probably the sea salt scrubs. I LOVE the Awaken and the unwind. I love the unwind massage oil and bath salts. I use the massage oil in the bath so that I can enjoy a moisturizing bath!!

My Perfume-Ok, this is definately not Arbonne!!! I LOVE my Bora Bora perfume and my Juicy Couture perfume.

My Nails- I LOVE getting acrylics and having acrylics on but while I am prego it doesn't make sense since I have to get them filled so much more frequently. So mainly I just moisturize my hands and hope that my fingers look ok.

My Feet- my Arbonne body serum and loition are miracle workers on my feet!!! They are so soft and no icky rough parts. I LOVE it!!! I ran out and had to order more and can't wait to use it again!! Also getting pedicures is essential during the summer and now until the end of my pregnancy. I love getting pampered!!

My Hands-MOISTURIZE

Three Beauty Items to take to a Desert Island- loition, awaken spray for the mosquitos, sunblock so that I don't burn and turn all wrinkly

Women I admire for their beauty-anyone who cares for their beauty (does that make sense?)

Women with the best sense of style- there are so many....and many in their own style. I love what my friend Alexa has!!! She always looks put together and cute!! My hairdresser always has all the accessories even if it is just a necklace

My personal Beauty secret-excersice and diet. I just need to be more motivated to exersice more often

My Ultimate Beauty Dream-to many to name...I'll just start with longer hair and flawless skin, but the list definately goes on.......
