Aidan the C-R-A-Z-Y sleeper!

Hello to all!! It has been a bit over a week since my last post and there isn't a whole lot going on lately around here quite literally. John worked one day (Friday) last week and hasn't worked at all this week. This is VERY frustrating for him as well as myself. It's nice to have him around BUT when he is home and watching way to much TV and playing around on his computer game and overall being lazy. I try and "suggest" things that we could do or some cleaning around the apartment because if anyone has seen our place you all know that it is in desperate need of organization lately. (We need to go through boxes and get rid of stuff) I try and be nice and such but before we know it it is dinnertime and then bedtime. Oh well, as long as Aidan has fun....right now they are outside playing. John has taken 2 extra shifts at Garlic Jim's (tonight) and one last week for a little extra cash. He LOVES it thus far as a second job.

Ok, that was a really long paragraph. I am running on little sleep. John and I took Aidan over to his parents house last night because we had no idea John wasn't working and I was taking a close family friend to her first OB appointment in Seattle at Swedish Hospital. John and I are honored to be the baby's God parents!! What an honor. Well we, err she, had an u/s (ultrasound) this morning and WOW, what a show the little one put on. I have to say, the baby is uber cute too!! Her hubby isn't able to take time off they were just married in January and he just started this job wihtin the last month or two I believe. So, I get to be the other person there. I LOVE IT!

So, her appointment was at 8am and check-in was at 7:45am. With traffic around here in the morning I left our house at 6:30am and usually wake up around 8am or so, so for the last two mornings I have been up early (yesterday & Friday I nanny at 6am, but usually get to snooze for a bit when I am there). So the coffee is out of my system and I am POOPED!!

Anyhoo, this post was about Aidan and how crazy of a sleeper he is. He will be all over the place with his head and feet at the wrong ends. Here are some pictures to show!! They are from various days and such!! Enjoy our wild sleeper!!
Fell asleep reading.

Ok, I know this is when he was sick, but it was still kind of funny with him with his "blah" or throwup pail.
Covering up

Peek-a-boo

This was more recent and really silly!! He must have needed more cushion than his bed already has!!

Yet another....

Last but not least. Look for more to come!!

Snow??

So.....since Friday we have been having snow showers and Friday was definatley the worst. Can you believe that it is April and it is snowing?? Seattle's record currently was April 17th for the latest snowfall, but alas we have set the latest snowfall in Seattle history!! I didn't get any good pictures or rather any at all, but hopefully if it continues to snow which they are saying is a possibility through tomorrow (who knows how long at this point) I will try and get pictures.

We have had hail, snow, sleet, rain, sun, clouds, thunderstorms, rain, snow, you get the story. I heard that one area around here got like 10 inches!!! Crazy huh!! So, I hope that our three readers out there (if even that many) are having better than us. Until it get's warmer....

Another success!!

So, I'm sure this is probably only a thing another mother or father would understand but yesterday, John forgot to put a diaper on Aidan at naptime. When Aidan woke up he was still in his big boy underroos's and dry!!! Yes you heard it correctly he is not wearing diapers at naptime for the last two days!!! I hope I am not to premature and that the success continues but I was so proud of him that I had to share!! I am amazed at my little boy and how well he is doing at this whole potty training thing!! We are such proud parents!!!

Wowzerz it was HOT!!!

Ok, so its only the middle of April and I was seriously complaining about the weather. CRAZY!! I just got onto KomoTV.com and checked what the high temperature for Seattle was today. 78 degrees!!!! Insane!! Our apartment reached 85 by 6:15pm when I left to go babysit and I was happy to be leaving for a few hours. Although the house where I was at tonight was also quite warm, it wasn't as hot as our house.

Aidan only wanted to go to the park and do nothing else. He even "packed" his bucket with all sorts of cars/trucks and whatever he could get his hands on to play in the sand. That's better than the toys to climb on. I have decided that we have a sand fanatic as well as bubble fanatic. Our friend Alexa, has said that Aidan is a bubble man. Tomorrow is suppose to be icky again but we are hoping for nice weather so we can go to the park to play in the sand. Keep your fingers crossed!!

New word of the day...

Ok, so Aidan is exploring his vocabulary lately. I was listening to John read him a book last night and I kept hearing "Why" coming from his room. He has asked me the very question a few times and follows it up with "oh" but it was fun being the audience for a change. He is learning SO much these days!!

Sample conversation between Aidan and I today while making his favorite Mac 'n Cheese for lunch.

Mommy: "Aidan can you please get off your stool and move it?"
Aidan: "Uh...........why?"
M: "So that I can put Daddy's breakfast dishes into the dishwasher and start it."
A: "Oh, okay."
A: "Why?"
M: "Because I said so." (we are using this and because I'm your mommy/daddy a lot more these days too)
A: "Oh, why?"
M: "Because I'm your mommy and I asked you to."
A: "Yea."

So every once in awhile we will get asked why after we respond that we are his mommy/daddy. Trying to answer all of a toddlers endless questions makes a person smile and occasionally pull their hair out if the questions go on long enough. Aid has been asking why more in the last 2-3 days or so and it is fun to see what his next "new word" might be!! OH MY!!!

Snow in March...almost April?

OK, so by the time John and I finally turned off the lights last night around midnight (we didn't even finish our movie!) we had about 3 inches on the ground of SNOW!! YEA!! I was a bit nervous for him because he had sound this morning at church and was going to be driving in it early. Turns out the snow was melted off of the streets by 7am when he left (or a bit earlier really). So that meant that Aidan and I could also go to church. Before we could even think about church though we thought about playing in the snow.

Last night we had tons of fun in the snow throwing snowballs and such and this morning was a bit more snowballs, mainly running around in the snow (probably being to loud for our neighbors but oh well how often does it snow out in Redmond). We also got one of our Easter baskets and Aidan filled it with snow and turned it over. The sand at the beach will be a lot of fun this summer me thinks!!! Cant wait!! He finally got cold and that was perfect because it was time to come in and take a bath and showers and get ready for church. We didn't have enough time to eat breakfast at home even so we decided to go to Tully's and split a bagel on our way to church. It worked. So I will add pictures and I hope you enjoy them. Since this is probably the last until next winter! Enjoy!!
Ok, I couldn't pick just a few. So sorry for so many photos!! I hope you enjoy them though.

Winter...err...Spring Wonderland!!

ITS SNOWING!!! If anyone knows me well, they would know that I am CRAZY about snow, but only for a very short time, then bring on the sun and the heat. Well, we were suppose to have 2 days of snow about a month or so ago. It snowed the first day and was suppose to double the amount that had fallen the next night. Imagine my surprise when I woke the next morning to the sound of rain!! I was not happy. Aidan didn't get a chance to go sledding and such and I felt so badly for him, and me.

Well, we officially have 2 inches of snow!!!! It's 33.1 degrees out and it hasn't stopped!! I am keeping my fingers crossed that we get dumped on and that it continues through the morning so that Aidan and I can go outside and play. I want to go play with him and have some fun in the winter/spring wonderland that we are experiencing . I just want to have another snowball fight and go sledding with him!!

Anyhoo, I will post pictures for you all to see of the snow after we play in it tomorrow!! Enjoy this "last" (we'll see) snow fall of the year until next winter at least!
